In 2020, NASA plans to send an Israeli solar-powered generator to the International Space Station.

Ben-Gurion University (BGU), Israel’s leading research university, has built a miniaturized solar-power prototype that will aid private commercial space missions.

The BGU’s prototype is made up of a lightweight, low-mass molded-glass solar concentrator bonded to monolithic integration of transfer-printed micro-scale solar cells, designed by Professor Jeffrey Gordon and his American colleagues.

According to the press release, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is set to send a prototype to the International Space Station with its first launch of 2020.
